Hello member,
I am facing some problems with my CEC application, my credit card is expired now, which I mentioned in my applcation. My CEC application was received by Sydney office on 27 May 2013, technically my application should not open be yet. Due to some security concern, credit card company cancelled my card and sent a new one. I emailed (CIO‑Sydney‑Search‑Enquiry@cic.gc.ca) to Sydney office too, but no response from them yet.

Can any one share experience, what should I do :
1) Wait for Sydney office to reply OR
2) Wait till my application is rejected and sent it back again with 'Fee payment form' OR
3) Just send a new 'Fee Paymant Form' to Sydney office, with letter explaining my case.

I think my application should be open in few weeks now, Please help me to save my application getting rejected.

Thanks

The only thing you will lose is your time. They will for sure return your application if your credit card did not work. Dont worry for any rejection / loss of application fees at this point.

Ouch! sorry to hear that. I was in the same situation exactly a year ago.
And I talked to local CIC office, and they said that I should just mail a new payment form with an explanation, and a copy of the letter from the CC.
I did (spending another $40 or so on expresspost), but in the end it didn't help.
In my opinion they will never bother trying to find your application, with a payment form which will not work.
So don't worry. You have to wait till they mail back the whole application to you, since the payment will not go through.
You will loose about 2-3 weeks, but it's a minor set back.
Also a chance to check all the documents one more time.
good luck! and don't worry. I know how you feel though, very frustrating. I was fighting with the CC, since they didn't cancel my card completely, but just limited the withdrawal amount to $500, and the fee is $550, so I tried and tried for them to raise it, but they wouldn't budge. So in the end, it cost me a month of wasted time and some wasted money (for postage).

just my two cents:
I would send them the form from the checklist where I agree to charge my card.
Mail it with file numbers on the envelope so they can attach it to your case.

And, I haven't had an issue like this. Let's wait for some more help.

what file numbers?
I have not received AOR from cic...
should i write my client number on the envelope instead?

anyone who can give more input on this? appreciated!

hi bun22,

if the can't process the payment they will for sure return your whole package back, the big issue here is that you can not reapply again since your noc does not qualify anymore for CEC.
i suggest you start looking for plan B.

good luck :)

since you do not have a file number yet you can't send anymore documents at this stage since they will not be able to link it to your file due to the big load of applications they receive everyday and different programs.

Not sure about other members. I was in the same situation last year. After sending the application, my credit card was lost and it got cancelled. I sent an email to CIC informing this and sent the payment form with my details . It was not of any use. My application was returned back with all the documents (IELTS, PCC etc.,) due to the credit card payment problem. I got a mail from CIC only after getting back my application stating that they couldn't locate my documents (which they have already sent it back :)). I lost about 2 months and I have to mail back the application. This time there were no issues with the credit card and the application got through. I have landed already.

So if you are in lost/cancelled/stolen credit card situation, almost certainly (unless you are very lucky) your application will be returned back and you have re-apply.

Even I applied using my CC, but in hidsight one should always use a Bank Draft or a Money order that ensures gauranteed payment.

Hi Funmax6,
Please could you tell me , how much time they took to deduct payment after you sent back your application with updated CC info? was it same wait time as in original first application (2 months) or did your second application / payment deduct faster ?
Basically I wanted to know where they put replies papers application , in same queue or they have a different queue for replies (re apply with updated CC / any other docs) ?

I am also in same situation and waiting a reply from CIC. I already sent hard copy of new CC with cover letter and email them also. But so far no reply. I think like you they will send back my original application and then only I can update my CC info. My worry is now in Jan2015 they are closing this CEC category and may be in 2015 I need to arrange some more papers etc. So just worried about CIC process timings.
