I have completed Bachelor of Engineering from India and Masters in Engineering from Canada. Do I need to evaluate my educational credentials to apply for FSW category which is supposed to be published in Jan 2013?

Engineering is a regulated job in Canada, and you will have to get your degree evaluated for application, but now there are talks that everyone will have to get his academic credential assessed in Canada and this clarity will come only in Jan. Till time CIC has not yet notified the name of the agencies who will be doing the assessment

Hope it helps

But as I above mentioned, I have completed Masters in Engineering from Canada.. So my question was ... do I still have to evaluate my education credential?

Do we have to evaluate our first degree or highest degree?

There are no clear guidelines yet. However, as a common understanding, CIC will need foreign credentials assessment to make sure that applicants have comparable education credentials as that of Canada. So, for the applicants who already have secured a Canadian degree (like Masters from a Canadian University), they should not be requiring such an evaluation.

I also really hope that people who already have a higher Canadian degree do not need to have their educational credentials assessed, as they already have gone through Canadian education system and have successfully obtained their Canadian educational degrees.

CIC will come out with list of agency for ECA assesment and this is compulsory for all FSW 2013 applicants.

Fee and agency names will be published soon.

Heard it will take around 2 months for the credentials to get assessed. Then we might miss out if the list is released late.
Is this an agency

Wes ,icas are agency but nothing has been announced about ECA.They may be delaying announcement knowingly as verdict about about backlog application still awaited till March.THese are my own thoughts.

please update...

ok.. so which are the other agencies.. any rough idea on the pricing.. also how many certificates will need evaluation. the highest one?
