Creating my CEC Profile (International Student)

Hi All,

I need help creating my CEC profile. I am an international student and have completed my certificate program. The program was completed in 8-months and gave me 8-months PGWP. Luckily, I was able to extend my PGWP because of the new public policy which extends my PGWP to 18 months. I already acquired my 1-year work experience (2 different NOC-B) and I am in the process of creating my CEC profile.

My question is in filling my Education background, there is a question there that says "Complete/Full Academic Years". Now my problem is when I fill this up it does not allow me to encode the number of months (8-months). It only allows me to encode the number of years"1". What should I do with this? The certificate program that was issued to me is 8-months and not a 1 year certificate.

Please I need your advice.

isn't 8 month program considered as 1 year program, i mean that's how the colleges are advertising in their webpages hehe . so OP can input it "1" isn't it

Hi @Frisk so should I write 1 even though the program that I have completed was 8-months? I would say that the certificate was obviously 8-months because I was issued before with 8-months of PGWP. I'm just worried if I put this as a 1-year certificate they might say I am miss representing.

Hi @dankboi That is also what I thought, but, unfortunately, it is only an 8-month certificate. I also notice that they wrote on my letter of completion the study was completed in 34-weeks which really made me frustrated because I was expecting it to be a1-year program as per verbal confirmation through phone by the college registrar. Needless to say, I was issued with 8-months of PGWP before. I don't know what to encode in this part of my educational background. I'll just continue gathering information.
