Hi Kumar,

Its really nice of you, trying to help him. Your friend needs to score 67 points in total to apply for Canadian Federal Skilled worker immigration.

As far as i know, Crane operator's NOC is on the 29 occupations in demand, and his experience will get him 21 points for it.
His education will fetch him minimum 15 points
He will be able to claim 10 pointsif his age is in between, 21 to 49.
He will have to secure maximum i.e 16 points for his English Language skills.
He may get another 08 points if he is good at French.

Even if he has full points in Ielts, he still needs more 05 points to qualify, to make the total of 67.

He can discuss about his education in detail and the seniors may guide him about his points.
He can learn french.
He can claim points for his accompanying spouse if she is a graduate.
He can claim 10 points if he has a job offer from a Canadian employer.
He can claim 05 points if he have a blood relation settled in Canada.

I have given u an overview of the possibilities in a layman style, be specific about anything and i will be more than happy to explain as much as i can!

Cheers,
Nashe

Hi nashe,

thanks for ur reply. let me be little bit more specific in the requirement. my friend has finished his secondary school and then selected the crane operator course ( 6 months course ) . he has a rich experience as overhead crane operator for 4 yrs. currently he is working in a steel plant in KSA for the last 1 year.he is also appying for number of jobs in canada thro website. he has a good command over english but doesnt know french. is it required to have ielts for skilled workers too? pl help in this regard so that i can guide him appropriately. also guide me what are the steps to be followed to get a job in canada and get a permanent settlement.

thanks.

As much as we wish your friend to move to Canada, without having bachelor degree for both, him and his spouse (if he has one) and getting good score IELTS it is not realistic for him to get 67 points with current requirements.
I would advise:
him (and if he has a wife, his wife) to study IELTS, study really hard;
if he has a wife - look into what she can do about her education.
and pray that CIC will differentiate requirements to let him get passing mark either this Summer or the next.
