Hi all,

I worked in Canada from July 2010 — June 2012. I am a New Zealand resident now. I have made contributions to the CPP, but how does one get it transferred out? There seems to be an agreement between Canada and NZ on social securities, but when I contacted Inland Revenue ( NZ tax organisation ) they said there wasn't such an agreement.

I imagine there have been thousands of temporary workers in Canada ( working holidays etc ) and have made contributions. But I could not find how to claim these deductions. Anyone help with this?

Thank you,
Simon.

The Canada / NZ agreement allows your years of CPP contribution to be considered permanent residence in New Zealand for their pension plan. I would call Service Canada (1-800-277-9914) and ask about the procedure for this.

So as a follow up to this - I know this post is over a year old.
I have an Australian friend who just got a cheque from the Canadian Govt.
When I contacted Service Canada, they said I had to fill in this form here:

Google: sc-isp-1000.pdf as I can't post links.

Will carry on the battle to get my CPP $!
