Hi. I am a citizen of South Africa, currently visiting Panama as a tourist (no residency status). I assume I would put South Africa as my country of residence, even though I am applying from Panama. Is this correct?

Yes, you would select SA.

When are you returning to South Africa? I would hold off applying for the TRV until you have returned to SA. Two main reasons for that. One is that TRV processing times for Panama are currently estimated at 200 days (vs. 75 days for SA). Also, chances of approval are typically higher if you apply from your home country and can demonstrate ties.

I am a digital nomad, so would not be returning any time soon.

Got it.

Then yes, I would put SA as your home country and then just be prepared for the possibility of quite a long wait for the TRV.

It is almost impossible to get anything done via government in SA. Just the wait for a drivers license is behind by months. It's a mess. This is the lesser of the 2 evils. Thanks for your help.

One last question ;) How do I put arrival and departure dates when I have no idea when the visa may be issued?
