Hi there,

I know that in order to renew your PR Card you need to be present in Canada for 2 years in period of 5 years.

However, in my case I was in Canada with Work permit from March 2014, and I got PR card in May 2015. I was present in Canada from March 2014 to Sep 2015 and then I left Canada and I just visited Canada occasionally.

Here is my question: Can I count the days from March 2014 to May 2015 ( days with work permit and it was before getting my PR) to renew my PR?

I appreciate if someone could provide me some guidance.

Thank you

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but the days before only counts for citizenship. PR residency starts from the date of landing.
