So my husband has lived in the US for 20+ years and served in the Army for 8 years. He always thought he was a PR of the US, but not a citizen.

We got the FBI Clearance today, and under the colomn that says

CITIZENSHIP it says UNITED STATES

Anyone know if this is standard for PR residents of the US or could he be a US Citizen and not even know it????

I imagine if he came here when he was younger/minor and his parents became citizens perhaps he is one as well. Does he hold a green card or passport?

He came when he was 17 as a PR, and his parents didn't get their Citizenship till he was approx. 21

He has a US greencard, US PR card and the passport from his native country.

They take your greencard away from you when you become a citizen of the US. Also, he would have attended a ceremony where he took an oath. If he was that old he would remember it. They probably checked the wrong box or made an assumption if he didnt fill out the fingerprint card completely.
