Cost of medical if not insured

My mother-in-law, 70, will be coming to Canada, BC. She has some pre-conditions that are not covered by insurance. I am trying to budget non-insured costs. If any of her pre-conditions were to cause any emergency would BC hospitals treat her? Where can I find how much, approximately, it would cost (such as hospital stay, etc.)?

Back in 2012 one night in a regular hospital room was over $3K. If an intensive care room is required, the costs rise to $8K plus.
