Hello Dear Freinds

I am new to this forum. I am plannig to apply for PR under FSW1 Cat. I want to calculate my points for education before applying. I have done BBA regular 3 years course. After that I have passed M.B.A from Punjab Tech. University through Correspondence ( Duration 2 years) . I dont have to attend any classes to get my M.B.A degree but I have to take exams after every 6 months by preparing myself at home . The study material was provided by univeristy .

Can anyone tell me if I can get some points for my correspondence degree course or CIC consider only regular course.

Regards

Goldy

If u have not attended the class then you won't get points for it.

Simply you'll be awarded 20 points for your BBA

Dear Freind

Is it mandatory that one should get points for correspondence degree based upon conditions that one should attend the classes. Becoz in India normally Correspondence courses are provided by not attending the classes .

Please reply

Yes you have to attend at least 15 hours per week. This is requirement from CIC.

Please check CIC website and they have cleared this point.

For getting points one needs to prove 15 hours study in a week.

There is some ambiguity in education section and the OP guide says VO should apply his discretion in deciding whether a particular course qualifies for points or not. So it is on VO discretion and you may or may not get points

I have seen some people getting points for correspondence edu though

Dear Freinds

I agree that it may be mentioned on website that one can get points for education for 15 hrs/week . But tell me that if I have done any regular course also and we need to submit the Semester DMC ( Detail Marks Cards ) . Nothing is mentioned over there about hours of study. Then how can one prove that he had studied the course in terms of number of hours.

Please reply.

Goldy I think it depends much on your papaer work, if your marksheet ad degree say that it was correspondence course then there is a need to address this, if it says it is a regular course the VO assumes that you attended classes for more than 15 hours per week based on his knowledge of local education system.

Also CHC needs a transcripts. For example in my case I ordered additional transcript for my self and it said that I was a student of regular classes for my B.Tech course

Dear Ankit

I agree with you. But i personal question please dont mind. I have read somewhere that transcript comes in university sealed envlope. Than how you can judge that they have written that you are regular student of so ans so ...

As I mentioned in my previous post I ordered an additional transcript. My univ charges per transcript and you can ask for as many as you want but need to pay for each transcript
