Last year our family landed in Toronto. It was a short 2 week trip so we brought only abou 6-7k in cash and the rest in our cards. During landing procedures the officer asked us about the money and we said the truth about cash and bank account. He was satisfied with our answer, however he wrote in main applicant's Corp remark section c$7000.

As per the rules the family of 3 need to have something about 14k.
can that note about 7000c$ in the remarks section of corp somehow complicate our PRC extension or future naturalization? Or has anybody faced anything similar?

Answer is NO as assume you are landed PRs now so all you need to worry about is having your PR cards to hand when you travel back and ensuring you meet the 2 out of 5 year residency obligation.

Hi guys!
Do you know if anyone has had problems carrying less than 10,000 CAD? In the COPR letter it says "every principal aplicant should have in hand $10,000 Canadian dollars plus $2000 for each accompanying dependant. This includes cash, money orders and travellers' cheques.
I was thinking about less than 10,000 but with an up to date letter from my current bank indicating the balance, plus showing credit cards.
Thanks for you opinion.

And there's no indication on the funds they considere necessary for your settlement? Probably because you are already living in Canada?
That could make sense then.
I'm not in Canada. I'm in the US. It does not indicate I have to have the funds in cash on me. Though I wonder if that's because the pof I submitted was a Canadian bank.

We are planning to do our landing this month. As a family of 4 -2 adults and 2 kids, we had to show proof of funds- CAD 22,000 for our PR under EE>
My question is how much minimum should we carry with us and in what form?
If we carry cash will it be ok to open a bank account? The reason I ask this is cause a lot of people have been advising us to take a Bank Draft.
Please help!
