Hello, I hope that you can help me. I received my COPR late last week (applied under old CEC in June 2014). I am from a visa-exempt country.
I checked and noticed that there are some errors on it.
1. My marital status is down as being 'Single'. I became Common-Law about 3 months after I had submitted my application (in Sep. 2014). Straightaway, I declared common-law and sent CIC by mail in Sept. 2014 a letter explaining the change to common-law. My boyfriend is a Canadian citizen and is not accompanying me for PR. I also included a photocopy of his passport, sent an updated additional family form and a an updated generic application form for Canada to CIC.
2. My last original date is incorrect.
3. My last entry date is incorrect.
I called and spoke to an agent after I got the COPR and explained that marital status was wrong. The person told me to return the COPR but didn't give me much other information.
If I return the COPR to CIC, I was going to include the following by mail (registered):
- Letter explaining the changes to be made
- COPR documents
- Copy of common-law declaration and photocopy of my boyfriend's passport
- Screenshot of stamped last entry date
- Photocopy of original visa which includes original entry date to Canada.
The questions that I have are:
- Can I get these corrected at CIC office? I was hoping to do my landing in the Harry Hays Building in Calgary.
- If I return the COPR, is there anything else I need to include? Should I include a 'Request to amend the record of landing' form? Do I need to include more photographs?
I am in Canada (Calgary) - what address should I mail the COPR documents to?
Appreciate any feedback on this.
