Converting a visit from visitors to super visa

My parents applied for a super visa from a foreign country and entered Canada on a visitor visa. After entering Canada, the super visa has been approved and passport stamped. Now can they continue their visit beyond 6 months (visitor visa expires in june 2022 and super visa available until june 2027) now that super visa is approved. If yes, what is the process? If not, can they travel to any country outside Canada for a weekend and re-enter Canada on super visa?
