Hi Everyone,
I was studying BEng(Hons) Mech. Engineering degree in a UK university. I completed 2 years and a 2 year work placement as an aerospace design engineer. When I got to the final year due to a family situation I had to return to my country, and the university offered me DipHE Diploma (Diploma in Higher Education) (level 5, 240 Credits) it is equivalent to a HND.
Now I am hoping to continue my studies in Canada, I have already spoken to few universities all of them said that I have to start the program from year one which sounds absurd to me. Doesn't Canada accept UK qualifications? ??? If that is the case I have wasted 4 years and huge amount of ££££.
I have no idea what to do now.
Please let me know what will be the best option for me, I really want to complete the degree but really don't want to start it from the very beginning.
Please let me know your thoughts on this.
Thanks in advance for taking your time to reading my post and responding back!!!
P.S. I have a great passion towards trading stocks and I am pretty good at it, therefore lot of my friends suggested me taking a course in economics, risk management, financial engineering etc if I have to start from the very beginning rather than studying the same thing again, then at least I will end up with a financial degree and an engineering diploma, although I am not quiet sure where it will take me.
If anyone wondering why I am not going back to UK to complete the degree, the reason is I took a foundation year in engineering so that adds up to total of 5 years in UK. There is a new immigration rule which state that for an undergraduate degree the maximum number of years can be spent is 5 years. Therefore going back to UK is out of the equation.
Regards,
Anthony
