Contacting MP. What's the process?

Hello,

I've heard a couple of folks here who contacted their local MP to get an update on their CEC application. Is this a common thing? Anyone who has done this, what was the process? Did you call/e-mail your local MP with details about your file? Any light on this is appreciated.

I did not contact MP. However, the process is

1) Find your MP - www.parl.gc.ca/Parlinfo/Compilations/HouseofCommons/MemberByPostalCode.aspx?Menu=HOC
2) Cell her/his office during business hours. MP's assistant will pick your call - inform about CIC file. Emailing may also work, but responses may be delayed.
