It's been almost a month since my SDS application, it was stuck on eligibility and background checks for more than half of the month, and when I raised webform they sent me a generic reply as below, I'm looking to contact them anyway as I need to go to Canada ASAP and most importantly don't want deferment from the university

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your application is still in process.

All the required documents and information have been received by the responsible office for the moment.

Rest assured that we understand how important this process is for you and we are making all the necessary efforts to finalize your application as soon as possible. We will inform you once a decision is reached or if additional information is needed.

Bruh I get tired of waiting for so long, even visa stamping in my country is taking a lot of time these days
Mind sharing your timeline?
It took me 4 months to get a PPR. Some people could get a decision quickly. But for many applications, its taking time. Wait.

You may feel like you’ve been waiting a long time but you applied in October. Many from India wait 4+ months. The fact that you aren’t applying for Fall and doing a masters may help processing times but given the arguments between India and Canada processing times may be longer.

I agree with you, but I think an application is approved globally, it is only the visa stamping that takes time coz it's done locally (correct me if I'm wrong)
I see others getting their visa approved in a matter of days while almost all of them going for post-graduate diplomas for the May intake lol, here me going for a master's for Jan intake and having issues
