My refugee claim has been recently found ineligible after C-12. I wrote and submitted it myself but I’m now trying to find a lawyer to help me with the situation. How costly can this be for me in the future if I end up submitting a PRRA or a H&C? In terms of consistency, I think I’ll be fine. But I think I’ve over explained parts of the story and under explained others.

A lot of refusals happen to people who are consistent but didn’t frame their case in the way the law requires.
You won’t be referred to the IRB for a full hearing.

If the answer isn’t clearly yes, with evidence, the application can be refused even if your situation is genuinely difficult.

Will the original BOC matter as much in PRRA and H&C? will the IRCC take into consideration that I wrote it by myself?
Yes, your original Basis of Claim (BOC) can still matter in both a PRRA and an H&C but not in the same way, and not as much as new, credible evidence.
Will the IRCC take into consideration that I wrote it by myself? The information is all accurate and consistent but the quality might not be the best
IRCC can take into account that you prepared your BOC yourself, especially if there were language barriers, stress, or no legal assistance, as long as the core facts are consistent and believable.
