Hello,
I am currently working in Canada on a WP. My company when they applied for the WP, used my job title "Programmer Analyst" in all company reference letters and application forms. At the port of entry last year, I was issued a WP with occupation as "Iteract Media Prog & Developer" which I think refers to the title of the NOC itself - "2174 Computer programmers and interactive media developers" because "Programmer Analyst" falls under 2174.

1. Is my understanding correct that occupation that is mentioned in the WP is the title of the NOC, not the job title that we applied for?
2. I am planning to apply for the PR. The reference letter that I got from my company states that I've been working as a "Programmer Analyst" from xx-xx-xxxx with NOC 2174. I am assuming this is ok.

Please let me know your thoughts!!

yes, it's OK. The letter should state your actual job title.
