Confusion on processing times for spouse - An American

Hello. Sent in our package but we aren't sure about the real time frame. The cic website says 17 months. I called cic and they said 12 or less. But some people here have said 3 to 9. Whats the real story?

She is sponsoring me (an american). We already have lived together in the usa for years so i doubt there will be any concerns if our relationship is valid. I've sent them all of our joint bank account, tax info ect ect.

Just trying to plan ahead slightly if possible.

Based on the averages reported here, the correct answer is 3-9. Sometimes it can take longer though, it just depends on several factors, including luck.

Did you send evidence you plan to relocate to Canada? If not you might have a delay because they send a doc request.

We didn't send any official documents on our plans to return. Just an explanation typed out. That being to get my pr card allowing me to apply for a job and then once obtained make the jump over. We only live a short drive from Toronto (where we would be moving) so i could go to job interviews whenever
