Hello friends,

I have a confusion in entering the ECA details in Express entry profile.

I have two degrees and got both the degrees evaluated through WES. There are two fields for each degree and I am not sure what should I enter in both the below fields for each degree.

Field 1- Level of education (required)
Field 2- Level of education (Canadian equivalent) shown on Education Credential Assessment (ECA) report Your ECA report will tell you if your foreign education is equal to a completed Canadian degree, diploma or certificate. You must have the results of an ECA report to answer the question. If you are not sure what your result was, visit our website to understand what your ECA report results mean. (required)

Below are the result of WES evaluation:

CANADIAN EQUIVALENCY SUMMARY
Bachelor's degree (four years) and postgraduate diploma (one year) CREDENTIAL ANALYSIS 1. Name on

Country: India

For above two degrees, what values should choose the values in the above-mentioned feilds from the given below list?
* None, or less than secondary (high school)
* Secondary diploma (high school graduation)
* One-year program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
* Two-year program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
* Bachelor's degree OR a three or more year program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
* Master's degree, or professional degree needed to practice in a licensed profession
* Doctoral level university degree (PhD)

You need to add these two educational credentials seperately in your education section and choose their canadian equivalency (bachelor for your bachelor degree and one year program for your diploma) and enter the same ECA number for both of them.

Thanks a lot

What did you finally fill at these two level of education fields? In same situation

for your bachelors :

Field 1 :Bachelors
Field 2 : as mentiond on ECA report
Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's degree (four years)

for your masters :

Field 1 : Masters
Field 2 : as mentioned on ECA report
Canadian Equivalency: Postgraduate diploma (one year)

This is because the degree which you did itself is a masters degree. But as in Canadian equivalency its being equivalent to PG diploma 1 year.

I did the same and my case was just like yours .
Just to remind you in the primary field where you enter the education you have to enter Two or more degrees where one of the is more than 3 year program . You cannot claim points as masters there . Hope you understand. If you have selected by any chance masters there then change to two or more . There will be change in score due to this .

Hi sao,

Thanks for the help!

In my case, I have following ECA report
--bachelor of arts of 3 years is equivalent to bachelor 4 years

-- bachelor of education of 1 year equivalent to bachelor 4 years

- Master of arts of 2 years is equivalent to postgraduate diploma 1 year

CANADIAN EQUIVALENCY SUMMARY :
Two bachelor's degrees (four years) and postgraduate diploma (one year)

So, in this case what would be level of education field value before and after ECA field? Options are:
--One Year program at university, college, and institute
--Two Year program at university, college, and institute
-- Bachelor degree or three or more year program at university, college, and institute
-- Masters degree or professional degree needed to practice in licensed profession

Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's degree (four years)

2nd DEGEREE

Hi Sao,

Thanks for the detailed response!

This really helped me a lot. If you can, could you please help me with the following query:

--- This was my wife education history, who is a secondary applicant. On the other hand, I am a primary applicant and have given ECA report:
-master of technology of 2 years is equivalent to masters
- bachelor of technology of 3 years equivalent to bachelor 4 years

In this case, should I add master only in education history or I can add bachelors also?

Moreover, I was a lateral entry for my bachelor degree i.e. direct admission to the 2nd year of B.tech( because of 3 years diploma after 10th). How should I enter detail for this in education history like number of completed academic years?

--- Another query is that my wife is a secondary applicant, and has 9 years of teaching experience. Should I have to include work history of my wife also in express entry profile?

Add both : And while adding do it in a way that its in hierarchy - lastest education on top .(masters must appear first then bachelors then your polytechnic /diploma ) ....) on the tabular form

In your case as you have diploma , i would suggest you enter your education from Secondary so it remains vivid . However , the ECA report will tell the IRCC about your Canadian equivalency so doesn't mater what your actual study years are.

The only thing of spouse that is beneficial and add-on for the profile is their education & IELTS .. So no use of mentioning the work history . Infact,if you mention then there appears a field post ITA to upload employment proof and all.Headache with no use . Instead you don't declare anything at this stage.Later once you get ITA you can mention her work experience in personal history.

Thanks again for the help!

Regarding my diploma, It is not evaluated by ECA. I have done ECA only for Bachelor and masters. Should I still add Diploma in the education history?

Also, I am a little confused in wife work history also, I know it does not add up in CRS scores. But shouldn't it be the misrepresentation if I add work experience in personal history, but on the other hand in EE profile, I am selecting "NO" as an answer.

I suggested to add your diploma , so that the officer can see the subsequent years in a proper time line.. There is nothing wrong in adding your diploma .Like i said its ECA report what IRCC checks for your level of education. But here our purpose is to show our time line ..

If you could surf for threads with such questions you will find the most common answer not to declare spouse work and later add in personal history .You are not hiding , as you will declare in personal history post ITA .So dont worry ..

Further for your satisfaction you may add two three lines describing this in LOE ,While filling the details post ITA ..

Sao, Thanks for clarifying my doubts!

I understand now, as you mean, add diploma in education history, but select ECA "No" in the canada equivalence field.

Hi Sao,

Sorry to bother you again!

Is it okay, if add my masters and bachelors in Education History section as ECA is done for both ( excluding Diploma and 10th), and add my diploma and secondary certificates along with Master/bachelor/ECA/ IELTS certificates in the PDF, which I would attach in education section post-ITA?
