Hello all, hoping somebody can help me. I applied for a B1 visa for a job interview in the US. The position I applied for was in Canada but employer wanted to interview me in the US. I was a Canadian PR at the time (October 2017). On the visa interview day in the US consulate, I brought my current employment letter, invitation letter from potential employer and a few other documents that I thought would be enough. The visa officer didn't like the idea that I was going to the US for a job interview for a position in Canada. Long story short, she said that she wasn't satisfied and asked me to email her my resume and handed over form 221g.

Fast forward 3 months. I never heard back from them until today. The approved my visa application and asked me to mail them my passport for stamping, which is all good. My dilemma, however, is that I have since become a Canadian citizen and recently applied for a Canadian passport (yet to receive it). As I understand, Canadian passport will give me visa-less entry to the US so I shouldn't be needing the visa. Moreover, I am an Indian citizen which means I'll have to surrender my Indian passport anyway (because India doesn't allow dual-citizenship) within next three months so no point getting visa stamped. Again, this is my understanding. Please correct me if I am wrong.

What should I do? Should I just withdraw my application? If so, would/could it affect my entry in the US or any future prospects of working in the US?

Thanks,

Thanks,

"Should I just withdraw my application?"

Yes, that would probably be the best thing to do here.

"If so, would/could it affect my entry in the US or any future prospects of working in the US?"

No. People withdraw applications all the time. Wait for your Canadian passport and enter the US with it. You are no longer an Indian citizen and cannot use your Indian passport.
