I have two small queries, outlined below:

  1. Originally, I applied for the Jan 2023 (Winter) intake at the University of Winnipeg. However, due to the delayed visa processing, after I received my visa (in Nov’22), my university informed me that all seats for my intended intake were already filled. As a result, they offered to defer my admission to the September 2023 (Fall) intake, and subsequently issued a new Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for the Fall term. My question is, should I update the new LOA on the IRCC website since the delay exceeds 150 days? If so, could you please guide me on the process for updating documents? I couldn't locate a specific section for document updates on my application page. Should I submit a webform instead? Your clarification on this matter would be greatly appreciated as the available information is unclear. The information that i have right now is that i dont need to update the new LOA online and can just travel and show the officer the copy of the new LOA. Is that correct?
  2. My medical exam is expiring next week, and I will need to undergo a new medical examination. Will IRCC send me a notification through my portal to proceed with the new exam? Alternatively, can I opt to obtain an upfront medical exam and carry the results with me to the airport without updating IRCC or should I acquire a new UMI-IME number for the medical exam? I kindly request your guidance on the appropriate course of action regarding this matter.
As both of these queries pertain to IRCC and their policies, I am seeking your expertise and assistance. Your prompt response would be highly appreciated and immensely helpful.

Thank you for your attention to these matters.

As long as you are going to be studying in the same program but a diff intake, this is ok. However you must still inform IRCC & at the Border upon Arriving in Canada, the CBSA officer may ask to see additional paper work before they can issue you a study permit as if you have a visa stamped already , then the TRV would coincide with the dates of the program you are originally enrolled for. This happened to me too & while my intake was moved, i was given a Study permit per old dates & I had to apply for a SP Ext inside Canada.

I kindly request your guidance on the appropriate course of action regarding this matter. You need to have a valid & active Medical exam and this is tied to the validity of your visa. If you want to travel after your medical has expired, then you need to have a fresh e-Medical done & attached and passed to your file for the visa to remain active. Else you may not be allowed the board the plan as the visa may show itself as inactive. You can do it upfront and raise a webform

Thankyou for your reply. Could you also let me know on how to extend my visa once i enter Canada and how many days before my visa expires should i do it?
