Hi all,

So I received a letter from mississauga informing me that my application is basically accepted and ready to go with a few final steps to be taken. But I'm a little confused as to what to do.

I'm from Ireland, currently in Ireland and applying outland for PR through my marriage to my Canadian wife.

I am from an eTa approved country so don't need to send my passport - just a copy.

The letter states:

"STEP 3: PREPARE THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

1. Passport(s) OR photocopy(ies) of passport(s), as explained in Step 2.

2. Two (2) photos of yourself and of each accompanying family member.

3. One pre-paid return envelope for the return of your passport(s) and Confirmation of Permanent Residence documents.

a. If your documents are being returned to a Canadian mailing address, please submit a Pre-paid Xpresspost
envelope from Canada Post or a pre-paid return envelope from any other courier service.

b. If your documents are being returned to a mailing address in the U.S.A, please submit a self-addressed
shipping label along with its commercial invoice and a returning envelope from FedEx, UPS or Purolator.

4. The completed and signed Annex A attached to this correspondence, listing your current mailing address.

STEP 4: SUBMIT THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

 If you do not have a mailing address in Canada or the U.S.A, or if you are unable to submit the required
documentation for you or your accompanying family members to the addresses below, please advise IRCC via the IRCC Web form for instructions to submit your documents to the visa office that serves the country where you are. "

I do not have a mailing address outside of Ireland and I'm not even sure if my application is being processed here in Ireland or in the Canadian embassy in London.

There is no reference to Dublin as a centre for processing PR applications on the IRCC website - they direct me to London. I think the embassy here in Ireland is just for consular services. But any email correspondence I receive is always from mississauga.

I have used the IRCC Web form three separate times with very specific questions and every time all I get back is the same document (above) and no actual answers to my questions. No instructions on where to send any documents. If it is in fact in London I need to send this stuff to then I have no way to send a prepaid envelope there. Irish stamps won't work for the British postal service!

I'm quite confused and would appreciate some advice.

Many thanks,
Joe

I don't have an answer to your specific case but some suggestions:

-try contacting the IRCC by telephone to ask your question. That's probably the best.

-My understanding of the way that applicants submit and receive their passports and stamps, COPR etc for applicants who need the visa in the passport (not visa-waiver countries) is to go to the VFS global office in their country (there is one in Dublin) - ie this is how they deal with the returning mail issue in many countries, it's all handled through these vfs global visa application centres. I do not know how this applies to your case specifically but it's possible they would know what to do or have encountered this situation before. If the one in Dublin is close or reachable by telephone, perhaps they can provide guidance.

-Final thought - if your spouse is in Canada, have the spouse send direct to the visa centre in Canada with return envelope, and then you can just have the spouse courier it to you in Ireland.

Obviously depends how urgent this is for you. ONly suggestions, hope this helps.

Hello,

My husband and I had the same issue. He was the PA from New Zealand living outside Canada. Our PPR was from Ottawa and sent from Mississauga. We sent an email to the Ottawa office (you can also send a webform) requesting that my husband be able to send his PPR to the Auckland, New Zealand office, who sent it to Sydney, Australia for processing on his behalf.

They responded in five days telling us that our request was sent to the department who would solve the issue and a week after that my husband was sent a new PPR by email requesting he send his documents to Auckland.
