Confused to apply in Express entry next year or Canadian experience class ??

I got my open work permit in September 2013 and started working on 1 January 2014 .

I am finishing my 1 year required experience on 31 December 2014.

Also my job i a contarctual job in which i am paid 40 hours but its not a permanent position so does it matter anyway or not ??

I am confused to apply under express entry as its all new system and getting selected from pool is a big task :

1) Canadian Experience Class : I can prepare my forms and everything and push in my application on 1 January 2015 as my 1 year experience is finished and also there is no specific dates for the launch of express entry.

2)Express Entry: Secondly i could just wait for the launch of express entry, fill my online profile and wait if i receive ITA.
In this case I am worried as my job is a contract job its not a permanent position so can i go ahead with it or i am in danger??

Don't know about Express Entry, but for CEC as long as your work experience is under eligible NOC, it doesn't matter if the position is permanent or not.

AOR is the time of acceptance of application or as long as it reaches CIC before express entry i am fine ???

I think CEC will still exist after Express Entry. In any case, the rules effective on the day they receive you application apply on your application. Doesn't matter when the AOR is issued.

Hi Sidak,

I would suggest apply in current CEC. Because after express entry starts in Jan, You have to apply in express entry pool. Express entry pool is very confusing and CIC added several filteres in it. It is better to apply under current rules as rules are getting even tougher.

MJ009 : Thanks for your suggestion i also think the same ...cz we are not sure about the new rules, i am jus hoping they launch the program later in january bcz date has not been disclosed yet.

zyngi DNA : thank you for the information i was confused with the fact if AOR is generated later which rules will apply to my application.

Hope i can apply under CEC that would be great.

^ In general, changes to the CEC rules apply to applications received (i.e. arrived at CIO) "on or after" a given date. If your application is received before that date, then it is processed under the old rules.

Although the AOR is an important event in your application process, the date that the AOR is sent has no particular influence on how your application gets processed.

So if this trend continues, a rule change on January 1 would apply to applications received on or after January 1.

But January 1 is simply the earliest date that you can send your application, and it will probably take at least a couple of days to get there...

^ Yup. Express Entry will become a 'mandatory first step' for CEC at some point in January 2015, we don't officially know the date. And anyway, they have a habit of announcing rule changes without any (or much) warning... I think the best you can do is stay positive and always have a 'plan B'. Don't keep all your eggs in one basket.

I suppose it is possible, but I have to wonder, was your first day of work really on January 1, a statutory holiday? Just curious, would that be normal for your NOC?

AOR stands for "Acknowledgement of receipt"(you will also find your file number in it).

I think it makes sense that if you send your application before express entry is announced, you will probably be processed under the old rules. It doesn't make sense to send the application under CED, they receive it after they announce express entry and then they process you under those new rules. Before they start with that, they will probably finish with all the applications that are sent before the express entry date. So if you have sent your application on Jan 1st and they open express entry on January 20th, you application will get AOR probably in 45 days but you will still be processed under the old roles.
