I landed in October last year and immediately back to the US. The officer at the peace bridge said I can move everything I have to Canada next time when I decide to move permanently.

I am going to move to Alberta in July this year. The problem is that I am going to Windsor in June this year to take my professional license exam so I can transfer my license from the US to Canada. My concern is that, if I go to Windsor this June, solely for exam purpose only and only stay one night there in Windsor, will the immigration officer "force" me to move permanently, otherwise I will not qualify for any NEW immigrant's benefits such duty free for the items listed on B4 form? If I move to Canada in July permanently, will the officer still grant me duty free for my belongings such as cars, TV, IPODs, etc which listed on B4? In other words, if I did not move to Canada permanently in June when I visit Windsor, will I still get duty free for the cars I am going to import when I mover to Canada in July permanently? Thanks.

As I understand it, no. If it's on the B4, you can do things at the rate YOU choose..

I have landed in Oct 2012, and went to Toronto in Jan 2013 for my professional license exam and came back to the US after couple of days. My understanding is that as long as the item is listed on B4, the item can be moved during the next permanent move to Canada as duty free.
