Hi,

I am working as a Manager in a restaurant like Mcdonald. Followings are my job duties:
• Regulate routine operations of restaurant like organizing, evaluating and controlling day to day activities. Example: opening to closing of the restaurant.
• Maintaining correct flow of operation.
• Hiring and training staff. Making sure they are following their job description, know their areas.
• Taking care of health and safety measures.
• Evaluating staff's daily performance through providing them daily feedback on their performance. Taking corrective actions to manage staff conflicts.
• Handling cash inflow through daily cash deposits
• Manage inventory through month end inventory and keeping every month record.
• Handling customer complaints by following the corrective measures. Making sure customers are being served by meeting higher level of satisfaction.
• Reporting problems to restaurant owner either it's a inter or intra organization problem.
• Maintain the restaurant standard by following daily compliance checklists.
• Participation in monthly manager's meeting to discuss objectives of the month, staff problems, and special events.
My title says manager but somebody told me its more kind of a supervisory position. NOC code 6311 is for food service supervisor and 0631 for restaurant manager. Can someone suggest most suitable one. thanks

Re: confused about NOC code 0631 or 6311

Forget your job title. Instead, look at your main duties and responsibilities. Do they fit better with code 0631 or 6311?

If my ROI says my occupation as a manager and i apply with a NOC code of 6311(food service supervisor). isn't would be a problem?
Because your job title should match to what you do, if I am not wrong?

This is NOTa JD of Food service supervisor NOC 6212/NOC 6311.

Sounds like a restaurant manager JD.

Anyway, send an email to HRSDC with your main duties and responsibilities and ask for the NOC code. Here: http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/SendUsEmail.aspx
