confused btwn inland and outland plz help

so just because stupid me ....my wife overstayed by 7 months ....

I see some people still saying they still filed outland then flew back to home country then came back

my question is how can you fill the all section of where you lived so far if you are still filing outland if u overstayed

and what if say you filed outland and managed to stay in Canada (overstayed ) can you still do landing at the airport

correct me if I am wrong

When you fill out that section of the application you say you had "no status" in Canada.
