Hi all!

Need some help, I am applying for post graduation work permit..as asked during online application, if how long have I studied in Canada.
Well, it is like this, that I got student visa for Network Engineering Technology program which was for 2 years, but after studying full-time for 1 year I shifted to Computer Network Administrator which was a program for 1 year, completed it and graduated from it this month. I am now applying for post graduation work permit.

So here is the question: Should I put 1 year or 2 year for the time I have studied in Canada? Or is the question just being related to the program I graduated from? Any decent responses would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

2 year. Add a note in cover letter explaining your scenario for clarity purposes. But take that question independently. All they want is proof of ur stay in Canada for 1 year

As far as myu understanding.......you will get post grad permit for the duration of your studies.....Therefore 1 year study mean 1 year study permit........therefore you need to put 1 year of education in the form.

best regards

The best answer to this question can be given from the international student department of your college, they are the experts in PGWP's and they will guide you in the right direction, you should not rely on the replies from this forum for your online application, its best to consultant the international staff.

hi i have a question, u mentioned your student visa is 2 years, and u studied 1 year and the programming another 1 year, so is it means that your student visa expiring soon? so do u have to apply for a new visa? or u just need to apply for post grad wp and then they will issue u a new and extended visa as well?

im planning to work in canada after my studies too so i need some info and i'm so confuse on how the visa and permit works..thank you. :)

If you study in Canada for 2 years than you can apply for post graduate work permit after your graduation and it will generally be 3 years...If your program is less than 2 years but more than 8 months than you post graduate work permit will be issued for the length of the time you have studied..

NO while your studying you have to apply for a off-campus work permt On CIC's website, this will allow you to work off campus while your in school, this permit is valid for the time your study permit is valid..As soon as you finish your course you need to take your transcrips and apply for a post graduate work permit, which will be valid for 3 years if your course was 2 years..
