Americans or anyone married to an American, do you include each other on your taxes?
do you put them as an exemption as the don't pay US taxes or no because they do pay taxes just not in this country? do you put married filling separately?

i have no clue what i'm doing

Re: confused

When I saw someone post a response asking if I claimed my guy on my taxes (no, I did not) I started to fret over that one too. Hope someone can help. I would have liked the tax deduction but didn't think it valid.

I am probably going to put "married, filed seperately" as that seems the most fitting. I am going to be calling our tax accountant tomorrow (as I also need to know if I need to change my paychecks from single/witholding to married and if there's some kind of form I need to fill out for the US Govt. showing I'm married.)

GREAT post NYCtoNB I hope someone responds with some information! If not, after talking to the accountant, maybe I can clear THAT part up.
