Applied for VR March 3, 2021
Requested 6 months extension because it did not require medical exam.
July 4 received in MyAccount IMM1017 requesting a medical exam in the next 30 days. "Failure to do so may result in the refusal of your immigration application."
July 6 got notified that a final decision has been taken: your application was approved, secure document is in the mail.
July 9 Received Visitor Record in the mail as follows:
Conditions: Not allowed to work, not allowed to study, must leave Canada before October 3 , 2021
Remarks/Observations: Must undergo immigration medical within 90 days. Forms have been sent separately.

So 92 days extension from the issuance of the VR and 90 days to complete immigration exam which is not even listed as "condition" even though it's worded as a "must"?
Or is it 30 days?
Or the decision as it says is "final" and then what is the point of doing the medical as it has no impact on the decision?
Feels like the system is crisscrossing requirements from different immigration paths and of course it is impossible to reach an agent on the phone to clarify.
It says "If you are unable to complete your medical examination within the 30 day timeframe provided, it is your responsibility to inform the IRCC office responsible for processing your application as soon as possible." What office? There is no office, entire application and processing is online.

At the time of the application, the answer to "if in the last year you resided in a country that requires medical exam for stays over 6 months" would have been yes. So even though entering Canada in 2020 was possible without a medical because the length of the visit was implied to be 6 months, the extension made it effectively over 6 months. That is the only explanation I can see for requesting a medical now.

Do we go for the medical? Within 30 or 90 days? Which document is more official? The letter in My Account or the one stamped and embossed with flags and such?
Funny part is now I can start a new VR application for more than 6 months and a medical exam is not needed because the applicant spent most of the last year in Canada.
