Hey there,

Live in a town that uses a lot of nominations. I heard rumors of conditions tying you to the employer even after residency is confirmed.

Is there any truth in this or any conditions I should know about. Can't find info anywhere.

Cheers everyone.

Nope, once you're PR you don't have any work restrictions anymore, and you are free to move to a different province. However during the whole time your PR application is being processed, you are supposed to show an "intent to reside" in the province you're nominated in. There's no strict rule as to how this is enforced, but basically you should not have a residential address outside the province, and if you land through a different port of entry you should have travel plans arranged for you to get to your nominated province so they don't ask any questions.

Awesome not planning on leaving my job and I'm already in bc just wanted extra part time work if the residency ever arrives.

Yep, as a permanent resident of Canada you get all the rights and protections Canadians get with the exception of not being able to vote or run for political office, and a couple of other minor things (like risking your PR status being revoked if you're convicted of a serious crime, and having a requirement of staying in Canada 2 out of every 5 years to maintain status).
