Hi everyone. I need help so bad. I am a canadian citizen and I have sponsored my husband under the spousal sponsorship ( PR status) and he is Already here in canada. Brief history about is, we wer in a long distance relationship for the past 5 yrs and just married for more that a year now. So he successfully have entered canada. Unfortunately, we only have lived together for like a week or so and he left me due to misunderstanding or a fight. My question is:
1. Will he loose his PR if we did not cohabitate as a couple for 2 yrs?
2. What will be the impact on me as a sponsor ?
3. Do i need to inform immigration about this?

On what date did CIC receive your original application?
Or, did you ever see his COPR, did it have Condition 51 on it?

1. Only if it had Condition 51, then MAYBE he will lose his PR.
2. The impact is you pay his welfare if he goes on it.
3. Yes, report it but remember what they do about it is their call, not yours.

Wow I am really sorry you are going through this.

1. Did his COPR have condition 51 on it?
2. You are responsible for him financially because you signed an undertaking. So if he collects welfare you have to pay it back.
3. I personally would try to talk things out with my husband before calling immigration. I have also been long distance 5 years with my husband, we have lived for 3-6 months at a time together though. If this was the first time you lived under the same roof with him it could all just be one big misunderstanding. I hope youc an get things figured out. Good luck.

I really dont know what was written in his COPR. It happened so fast that didnt have the chance to look at his documentation papers. What is my best option then?

Thanks for the answers.
tRUESMILE- documents were received in CIC last august 2013 and visa was approved last July 2014. How long would i pay for his welfare? What if things doesnt work out and we remain separated?

The undertaking has the length of time and terms specified. This is the document you both had to sign.

Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking [IMM 1344]

Page 4 to be exact. Just go read that part. I can't copy past, its not letting me.

If the application was received in 2013 and you were not common-law/married for 2 years before the application and/or you don't have any children together, then he has a conditional PR and can lose his PR if you choose to report him.
