CONDITIONAL PERMANENT RESIDENCY

can somebody please explain to me what does conditional permanent residency means?
does this apply to a couple who hasn't been living together for two years before the application but has a kid together?

If you had a child together at the time of the application, then you should not have condition 51. Otherwise, you would have it if you hadn't been common-law or married for at least 2 years prior to submitting the application.

Condition 51 means that you must live with your sponsor in a relationship for 2 years after landing. If you do not, then you could lose your PR status. There are tons of threads discussing this.
