Hi!
I just got my COPR. I noticed that it said condition 51, which states that I'm supposed to live continuously for 2 years in Canada. I had understood that I had to live in Canada for 2 years but not continuously. I would like to have a clear understanding of this so I can actually plan. I am supposed to go to canada on the 23rd but I have a return date for April, then I wish to return later with more cash and stay permanently. So I would like some guidance in the subject!
Thank you!

you are confusion condition 51 and the permanent residency obligation.

Condition 51 is given to spousal sponsorship PRs who were married for less than 2 years and had no children with their sponsor at the time the application was submitted. This condition requires you to cohabitate with your canadian sponsor spouse for 2 years after landing.

The PR Residency Obligation (RO) requires a person to spend 2 out of 5 years living in canada.

I believe you can use time spent outside of canada with your candian citizen spouse to fulfill both requirements. others will confirm.

these are not the same thing.
