Hi All,

First, good luck to all who are waiting to hear from CIC about their own application or their spouses.

My husband landed back in August 2014. We've been enjoying our "normal" life together in Canada as a married couple. Since we hadn't been married for 2 years when we applied, he had Condition 51 on his PR. So what happens in August 2016? Do we have to send anything in to CIC? Do they send something us? Or is the condition just removed on its own? I'm not finding anything specific on the government website.

We're also going to be moving in August 2016. Do we have to update our address with CIC? All I can find is how to update your address if your application is still being processed.

Thanks!

MLB

You don't send anything, condition 51 gets removed automatically.

Awesome. Thanks. The less paperwork the better!

Yup, my wife and I had our 2 year anniversary in Canada last October when we fulfilled our Condition 51 requirements. There was nothing to do, no communication from CIC. Nothing.

Condition 51 is for 2 years cohabitation.
What condition is for the 5 year sponsorship bar? Does the 5yr sponsorship bar show up on the COPR of newly landed immigrants? An answer would be highly appreciated.

The 5 year sponsorship bar will not be written in the COPR. This will be noticed when CIC sees that the sponsored PR is trying to sponsor another spouse within 5 years after landing as PR.
