Hi all,

Just wanted to check if there was ever a conclusion on " If you have applied to CIC before" and "If you have applied to EE before" questions when creating a new profile. I am interested in hearing if any of you asked about this to your respective lawyers if you are working with one. I summarize both sides of the argument of each question below as a recap of several discussions I read on this forum.

1). "If you have applied to CIC before"
My understanding is that there are two perspectives on this. One is that this only applies to immigration applications. The other view is that it applies to any application that an individual has made to CIC for student, tourist, work permits or any other visas. In my view any interaction with CIC for any visas would mean yes for this question. But I would like to hear if any of you got a definite view from your lawyers or consultants on this.

2). "If you have applied to EE before"
Again, two views on this. One view is that this refers to any previous created profiles pre or post ITA. The other view is that a "Yes" answer to this question only applies if someone got an ITA and actually submitted an application. I like to think that this refers to a profile and not a submitted application but again would like to hear if someone heard from their lawyer on this.

I have an active profile and I am still bothered by these two questions as I am not sure if I have answered them correctly.

Would be great to hear everyone's thoughts on this especially if they have worked with an immigration professional so we can close this once and for all. Not sure if anyone ever approached CIC for clarity on these questions?

Thank you.

The answer to 1 should be yes if you have a UCI (Uniq client Identifier). Anytime you put forth an application with CIC and it is processed, the u'll have a UCI

Just creating an EE appln and withdrawing it and re-creating the same again need not mandate you to answer 'Yes' to point 2. I believe you created and received ITA and for some reason it was rejected due to any reason, then you would need to answer Yes to point 2.
