Hi Friends,

I’m CEC application for PR, and just got my COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence) letter.

I’m residence in Canada, and want to go to Rainbow Bridge – Niagara Fall for landing, and I’ve the some concerns need your help:

1. How long does the whole landing process take? (since I need to buy round trip bus tickets to go and come back from there, and would like to know the timing)
2. What documents do I need to bring for landing? Photo? Funds prove?
3. I don’t have US visa to enter USA, should I be concerned?
4. My work permit, SIN card, work visa are all expired, should I be concerned?

1 Reach Niagra via car/bus . Walk towards the Rainbow Bridge . There is a separate path for pedestrians . Drop 50 cents per person at the gates and it would let you in , then walk towards US . At the US immigration they would issue you a refusal and would direct you to walk back towards canada . No US visa required for this process. At Canada they would welcome you as permanent residents. Whole process took around 1.5 hours for me

2 Just carry your COPR and passport. Carry bank statements (I carried but nobody asked for it)

3 If your work permit expired after you received COPR then I believe you need not be concerned . However if you were living and working in canada on an expired Work Permit then you would be royally screwed

It depends on the officer, some people took half an hour but some took more.

COPR, passport and all work permit but you can bring all important documents just in case.

3. I don’t have US visa to enter USA, should I be concerned?

Not required.

4. My work permit, SIN card, work visa are all expired, should I be concerned?

No worried, it's not gonna be a problem. if you on implied status, don't forget to bring confirmation or acknowledged of receipt.

I am actually on Implied status currently as a visitor. What should I take? A copy of my application? I will have a job once I get my PR - should I take a job letter???
