Concerned about unpaid credit card bill

Hi everyone. I have a query regarding my spouse. He was in canada for 2 years, and he got back before the expiration of student visa in 2014. He did not paid his credit card bill. So, will it be a problem for us. We are currently in the express entry pool. I am the primary applicant.

This shouldn't impact your Express Entry profile in any way.

However depending on the amount he did not pay, it's possible he has damaged his credit score in Canada and he may face challenges when he returns such as getting a new credit card or other banking product, getting a mortgage. This can also come up in background checks for jobs in Canada and may impact hiring depending on the field he is in.
