Hello, can anyone give me a hint if I stand a chance to get permanent residency in Canada?

I am 50, married and have one kid. Swedish citizen currently living in Costa Rica. Have been
running my own computer businesses for 25 years. Have around 1 million USD in legally obtained
assets. I make around 7K USD monthly before taxes. Basic 2 year education in electronics. I have no
connections to Canada. Me and my family speaks Swedish, English and Spanish.

I basically just want to move to Canada with my family and continue to run my business from
there, pay taxes and be a good citizen.

Possible?

Also, if someone could be kind to advice me some good lawyer (that answers emails), that could
help I would appreciate it.

It may be possible or it may not. It will largely depend on whether you meet the criteria for one of Canada's immigration programs and if you have sufficient points to be selected under that program.

I would recommend that you start by looking at the Federal Skilled Worker Program under Express Entry: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp

This is a points based system. To start, it would be a good idea to calculate how many points you think you have. Right now, only those with 450 points or more are being selected under the program. Points are awarded for age and your age will definitely work against you. Having said that, hopefully you can offset this through experience points, education points, language points, etc.

You will have to take a language test in order to qualify to apply - I'd start looking into that now. Your wife should take the test as well since it will increase your points and chances of approval. You will also need to have your education officially assessed.

You can also have a look here: http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNPENTREPRENEUR.html

It is related to what exactly you are looking for, located in Ontario. (It is a provincial immigration program).

Other provinces may have a similar stream, I'm not aware and have not looked for this information.

It's actually not at all what he's looking for. He's looking to move to Canada while continuing to run his business outside of Canada.

The program you linked to above requires the person immigrating to establish a new business IN Canada and make a minimum $500K investment in that business.

Thanks guys. I did the test and it did not even show any points. It just said I am not eligible. I guess I was at negative points and the system is too polite to throw it in my face :)
I guess Canada will have to do without me...

That is exactly what the OP wrote above:

That indicates he wanted to explore the option of moving to Canada and run his business from there (Canada), not here (where he currently resides).
