Hi guys. Does anyone here have a complicated love story, and did you detail them on the section (development of your relationship). Like, does it matter to CIC for those who have complicated story lines, like for instance, your sponsor's ex girlfriend is your friend and she introduced you two, and they were having problems even before you came into the picture, and he broke up with your friend because he fell in love with you, or maybe you fell in love with your friend's husband and when it didn't work out between the two of them, you fell in love with each other, or other story lines you could think of that have moral or social implications that are out of the norm single boy meets single girl and sparks fly scenario. I'm just curious, does this ever hurt anyone's application. The forms ask for the circumstances of your first meeting but is it a good idea to disclose details like this for instance? Like put in the field your friend's name coz she introduced you to your sponsor, but then things didn't end well with your friendship. That sort of thing. Like, it would be great if all relationships are ideal and every love story unfolds in a normal way, but what about those who didn't have such great start, but are genuinely in love with each other? Any thoughts guys?

Hi there, I think that by virtue of being on this site some of our stories are "de facto" complicated ;). As long as you are not misrepresenting, I have read of many people who will include details about fights or short term break-ups during the stress of this process. All of which happens in real life to real couples. Other than confirming a mutual friend introduced you, unless she is an ongoing presence in your lives, I do not think the fact that you and she had a falling out is even relevant. CIC's job is not to pass moral judgement on people's circumstances, their job is to evaluate if the relationship between the couple is genuine/bona fide and not entered into specifically for the purpose of immigration. Stay focused on that perspective when you are completing the application. Blessings.
