Has anybody here applied for compassionate reasons? My dad was diagnosed with cancer and doctor’s note will be attached to the application stating his request for his children to visit him, also states his prognosis and terminal illness. We are trying to apply for my brother and his family to visit him here. My sibling does not have a lot of proof of funds but I have a house and solid proof of funds to support their stay here. I am not sure about any timeline and anything about this visa.

I'm sorry to hear about your father's condition.

Processing times are generally dependent on where someone is applying from. You can see estimated processing times here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...vices/application/check-processing-times.html

Does he have a spouse and dependent children that will remain at home when he travels. What citisrnship does he have? Has he done biometrics before? Processing is relatively fast. Your father’s doctors will need to provide information so I would start with that.

He will bring his wife and son as my dad wants to see them too (Philippines). The doctor has already wrote a letter.

Sorry about your dad. I'm afraid that your sibling will have to show his own funds and ties to home country.
