So, my girlfriend (Belgian) and I (Canadian) are looking into spousal sponsorship through the commonlaw inland route. I wanted to put up a quick post of our particular situation to hopefully get an idea of our case strength as well as ask a couple questions along the way. So here we go
My girlfriend and I have been together for 6 years now with 5 of the years long distance with my gf in Belgium studying (I was working in Canada at this time). Upon her graduation we both moved to New Zealand to live and work as she couldn't work in canada (already used her holiday visa). We lived together in new zealand for 10.5 months with common bank bills and apartment. From there we took a 6 week vacation in vietnam where we biycled through vietnam most of our accommodations were paid with cash as visa or debit was not an option we have flight stubs and pictures but not much else. From here we flew back to canada (I was in a wedding) we stayed in canada for 3 weeks where we stayed at my parents. From canada we flew to Europe to visit my gf family and friends before we start this inland sponsorship thing, we stayed primarily at her mother's and fathers houses over 2.5 months and we are just about to head back to canada. Once in canada we will likely stay at my parents for 1.5 months before moving back to toronto to restart my old job.
Questions
1. Should we include information in our application from our long distance years like flight tickets back and forth etc?
2. With our vacation in vietnam will this hurt our application as there is little proof of us living together other than flight tickets and cash taken out of our common account from there.
3. During our approximately 3-4 months of living with parents how do we proof we lived there together as commonlaw? Will a signed letter from our parents stating our living situation suffice if so what should this letter look like? Is noterizing necessary?
4.we obviously would like to send out application as soon as possible when we arrive but since at this time we are going to be living at my parents and I will have no job at the time (I will have a job offer letters for a march start date) would it be much better to wait and apply once we live in our own apartment again?
