I am also worried about the sponsorship part. He is a student pretty much full time and works on the weekends not making very much money at all. I plan on trying to get a work permit after I been accepted as a pr and support myself.

Once you are "accepted" as a PR, you don't need a work permit. Would you like to clarify exactly what you mean?

Ooh I thought that when I became a pr that I had to get something so I am able to work.
