Hello,

I have a couple questions. I am an international student who just recently graduated from the University of Alberta. On March 31st my study permit expires. I have just recently applied for a post-grad work permit. On April 11th it will be one year since i've been living together with my girlfriend who is a Canadian citizen. We have been dating for over 2 years.

1) Can we apply for common-law sponsorship earlier than April 11th?
2) Can I continue working full-time after my study permit expires and SIN expire?

Thanks.

1) No - you can't. If you apply early you won't be common law and will be refused.
2) Yes - you have implied status until a decision in your PGWP is made.
