Hello,

I can't find anything on dual citizenship and hope I can get some direction.

I'm a canadian born and US dual citizen. I'm sponsoring my common law us citizen spouse outland.

We are both living in the US working. I plan on moving back home soon to work and live. My spouse will move up with me after we submit the outland application.
As a US he is allow to visit and return.

My question is, should I return home to work before submitting the outland application? Or, can I submit and prove I will have a job and place to live with my parents in the application.

I'm concerned that because I'm a dual citizen my application maybe denied because I'm still in the US. Moving back because my parents are old and the canada/us relation is not grreat.

Thanks for reading.

You can submit your application and then update your file when you move back to Canada. Moving back to Canada during processing will make it much easier to prove intent to settle in Canada. Your spouse could also apply for OWP once you receive AOR while in Canada but processing may be fast enough to skip that process.
