Hello all,
I need some help. I'm in the process of applying to sponsor my common-law partner to live in Canada with me. I'm a canadian citizen currently residing outside of Canada and my partner and I are living in the Netherlands together. Before that we lived in Germany together. I have a few questions:
1. Do I have to apply to be a sponsor BEFORE I send in all the documents? Or can that be done all together?
2. Does the medical examination for my partner have to be done BEFORE or AFTER the Permanent Residence status is decided?
3. What does "Dependant Family Members" mean in the case of Medical Examination? Which family members of my partner also need police checks and medical checks?
4. If I'm not using a representative, does this lower my chances of approval?
5. What is the total cost (fees) in order to sponsor without the use of representative? Or is there a link that breaks down these costs? (I haven't had luck finding it)
Thank you in advance!
Julia
