Hi everyone,

My spouse and I have applied for her permanent residency through the family class sponsorship VISA (she is a U.S. resident currently residing with me in Quebec). We've sent off the initial paperwork and received the next steps about a week and a half ago.

One of the things they require from us is the CSQ (Certificate de Selection du Quebec). We have all of the documents required to apply for the undertaking except for the letter they need to send us - which apparently we need before we can send the application off.

We're starting to get a little worried because the application takes ~25 days to process the CIC needs to receive the document by 03/27/17.

Our questions are as follows:
1. How soon is this letter likely to come?
2. Will it arrive via e-mail if that's how we specified we want to be contacted?
3. Is there anyone we can contact to let them know that we have still not received this letter inviting the sponsor to apply?

Additionally, we are having trouble linking our online account (its been nearly two weeks and no luck). Has anyone had this issue before?

Thanks for the help in advance!

The letter from CIC requesting to submit your CSQ before 03/27/17 is the letter you need. We were also confused as the letter we received via regular mail did not mention my name (the sponsor). So what we did was to send both the letter from CIC requesting the CSQ and the acknowledgement of receipt letter (on which the sponspor name appears). There was some backlog when we applied, so it took approximately 8 weeks to get it. If you don't receive your CSQ on time, you should send a letter to CIC requesting more time and you send proofs that you applied on time for your CSQ.

At that time, we called both the CIC call center (1-888-242-2100) and the MIDI (1 877 864-9191) and this is how we understood there would be no more letter coming with the name of the sponsor.

Linking the account is not easy... We managed doing it by not entering the city of birth (just hit the space bar once instead). We left the passport info blank, and we used 2 as the number of people on the application even if technically it should be only one.

Note that the CSQ process is still backlogged. They are currently working on applications received Dec 8th.

Is this for all applicants of CSQ or just Family class? If not, do you have any idea how long it takes to process an application for CSQ with an approved H&C from CIC? I received few froms from MIDI and I submitted my CSQ last week.
