Hello Everyone,
I am filing my common law inland application, and I have a couple of questions for the proof of relationship (social media conversations and similar).

I am italian, my boyfriend is french canadian: we write to each other mostly in English and sometimes in french and Italian. We have to submit our social media logs and about 5% of our conversations are in Italian. Do we have to translate the whole conversation log in order to submit it as proof of contact, or is it ok if we send it as it is?

I have a feeling they need to be translated but really wouldnt know how to, since most of the conversation is already in English and French.
Thank you in advance!

Translation of your social media conversations is not required when you submit your sponsorship application.......if translation is required later IRCC will inform you.

Refer........Spousal Sponsorship Checklist.......SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS FOR SPONSORED PERSONS....7. PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP TO SPONSOR....(a)

Proof of Contact: Provide letters, printed text messages, emails or social media conversations, or other documented proof of contact between you and your sponsor. Provide a maximum of 10 pages with your application.Translations of these documents are not required at this time. If we need translations, we will request them from you.

I would double check the question and make sure that it is needed. My husband and i live togethet and we were not required to submit any chat logs. I assume you being common law and applying inland that you live with your partner therefor chat logs and social media stuff isnt necesssary. Again thins may have changed since we appled but id double check to make sure you even need this.

Thanks. I have the feeling though that the more stuff I throw In the application, the better, right?

Not always. If they arent asking for it dont send it. Just like only 20 pics. No more. 10 pages IF needed. Nothing more
