Hi there, i'm new here. I'm Canadian myself and I'm trying to start my application to sponsor my common-law partner (we've been together for 6 years already and closed to marriage). I'm living in Hong kong with my partner and am trying to submit the application asap.

I'm starting out with the 1344 form and have the following queries, I'm hoping someone out here can help.

1. On first page where it says is there a co-signer on this application? Is this mandatory? Can I (as the sponsor also be a co-signer?)
2. Sponsor eligilibility assessment says do you reside in canada and in no other country? i can still answer No and still submit my application right?
3. Co-signer personal details? Would that be me as the sponsor? If so the sponsor personal details and co-signer details will be the same? Would this be an issue?

Thanks all for your help!

1) There are no cosigners in common-law partner/ spousal sponsorship
2) Correct because you are Canadian residing exclusively outside Canada
3) Not applicable because there are no cosigners

Please need assistance please. i am currently live and school in Canada. My wife applied for spouse open work permit from outside Canada, including the children. They have done Biometric and they were invited for Medicals. They went for medicals, and this is where the issue came.
My last son of 7 yrs old was born in the US and has America Passport. It was the US passport we used to apply for his study permit to Canada (we were advised to apply for study permit for all the children to make immigration process easy) . He also has a Nigeria passport. But when my wife was going for the medical, she mistakenly took the Nigeria passport for use, instead of the America passport that was initially used for the child's visa application. As we speak, other 3 of my children has passed their medical successfully, but IRCC did not attend to that of my last child and that of my wife as principal applicant. The status still remain with "Your Action is Required', which has been the status since the day IRCC requested for the Medicals. i have sent webform for explanation and other email. i only received a generic email that my request has been routed to the team in charge of the case. i really don't know what to do now. Please advise.

Can you delete this post and create your own thread? You are not sponsoring a common law partner or spouse from Hong Kong.
