Hi everyone I am new to this page. I am currently looking to file for an application for PR with common law being sponsored by my girlfriend. But I am not sure if I fully qualify. I am from Kenya and she is a Canadian citizen.
Here is my story: I just renewed my student visa for another 2 years until 2020. I met my spouse 2 years ago and we have been living together for 1.5 years. However, we lived at her family home for the first year so we don't have an official lease for the of that time. We will get her mom to write an affidavit saying we lived there and we moved into our own house Sept 2017. We wrote in my visa renewal that we became common law Nov 2017 but we don't have any official notary saying so. We are hoping we have enough evidence with other things, like we have joint ownership and insurance of two vehicles, and we've sold vehicles together and have bills of sale from previous vehicles we've owned. We also have transferred money to each other, emails and texting evidence, plenty of pictures, and lease payments from a joint bank account for our current house where we've lived for 4 months so far.
What do you guys think? Is there any major red flags or things we have missed? We don't want to get married right now because we are both in school and it's too expensive. We are both in our early 20s. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you.
